Inadvertent activation of a vessels E.P.I.R.B. (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) at sea and in the harbor has caused countless SAR missions to be launched which turn out to be false alarms. The E.P.I.R.B. ALERT (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) is a small lightweight radio designed to signal a vessel captain that the onboard E.P.I.R.B. is activated. The system has a range of 350 feet. When activated the system has an audible alarm as well as a visible strobe light to notify on board crew members.
